Art has always been part of who I am. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a dress designer, spending hours creating paper dolls and hand-drawn outfits. By age ten I was experimenting in the kitchen, and by twelve I was sewing my own clothes—partly out of necessity, since store-bought clothes never quite fit, and partly because I loved creating something uniquely mine. I learned by observing what inspired me, making my own patterns, and checking out cookbooks from the library to explore cuisines from around the world—especially Asian dishes, complete with English translations that made each recipe feel like an adventure.

My love for creativity continued through school. In junior high, I studied art and ceramics and took cooking classes that culminated in preparing a meal for Governor Reagan. I was assigned dessert and created individual strawberry Bavarian creams—an elegant treat for a very special occasion.
In high school, I explored a wide range of art mediums in studio classes and participated in my first (and last!) art show. Interestingly, my painting was the only one stolen—an experience that repeated itself years later in college when my portfolio disappeared during a class exercise. While I know many classmates were more technically skilled, I still miss those pieces and wonder what it was about my work that made someone want to take it.

During early adulthood, while working and raising my children, I focused on watercolor and acrylic painting. I loved capturing birds and waterfowl in watercolor and expressing landscapes through acrylics. Flowers naturally became another creative outlet—I enjoyed designing arrangements to beautify my home, just as much as hosting gourmet dinner parties for friends and family. Creativity flowed into everything I did, from catering special dinners and baking wedding cakes to sewing my own tea-length wedding dress, complete with lace sleeves and hand-applied lace details.

Over time, I began creating floral designs for family weddings, blending my love of art, flowers, and meaningful moments. After retiring from a demanding career in accounting, technology implementation, and software development management, I returned fully to my creative roots.

Today, Everlasting Florals and Art is where all those passions come together. I specialize in faux floral arrangements, resin-embellished wine glasses, vases, and thoughtful gifts—each piece inspired by a lifetime of creativity, craftsmanship, and a love for making beautiful things that last.
